If not careful with the purple colored family, it can make you appear tired and fatigued. Take a lesson from Chitrangda Singh on the November issue of Cosmopolitan India. Use a heavily pigmented shadow as a liner by wetting a fine brush, dip in shadow, and dab gently along the top lash line, and below the bottom. Add a coat of black liner for extra definition. The subtle halo effect is an easy way to experiment with bold shades without going overboard.
