Is it just me or do all of them look like they have a mask on... esp Bipasha Basu, it almost looks like her foundation is too light and ashy for her lovely dark complexion

@Anonymous I totally agree with you, but unfortunately, that's what M.A.C does to your skin. If you've been keeping up with my blog you'll notice that I've somewhat stopped giving M.A.C recs just because their make-up makes you look almost clay-like. I stopped working for them for the very reason because I stopped believing in their products :/ I love their eyeshadows/blushes/lip stuff but their foundations, powders, and concealers are like murder for your skin, why because it's stage make-up, that girls these days wear EVERY SINGLE DAY. Oh well, sorry for ranting, but I wanted to show the make-up trends for IIFA's but, even typing the post up, I thought the same thing to myself. Because indeed they all look like they're so cakey, especially Amrita and Bipasha.

what do you suggest is the best foundation to use for a dewy look?
I am indian (fair by indian standard)

@Anonymous if you're looking for a drugstore rec, L'oreal's True Match Foundation is great. If you're looking for a more durable foundation, that's a bit more pricier go for Make Up For Ever's HD Invisible Cover Foundation is beautiful. I mean the finish, how it looks in pictures, it's gorgeous.

Hey!
I also get the same feeling for Laura Mercier foundation...Its my perfect shade but it feels so cakey and heavy. I still like my MAC concealer though for my eyes...but not their foundations. I need to look into makeup forever's foundation - also my perfect foundation is Dior's nudeskin (?) foundation..it makes your skin feel so light and breathable. but I didnt have my shade :(

@Anonymous I'm not surprised that Dior doesn't have your shade. I've heard that complaint from a lot of people. Unfortunately companies like Dior, Chanel, YSL and Givenchy still struggle to come out with different shades for women of color. Try the MUFE foundation and let me know what you think =)

hey...well I could use the 040 shade...but the thing with Indian skin tones is that most of them are golden undertones and these companies tend to use neutral undertone for the darker spectrum. That's why I love Laura Mercier because they have perfect undertones for Indian skintones. But its so heavy and cakey...its perfect for pictures, but not for everyday. Also, its completely oil free and maybe that's the reason it is so cakey - because it gives no moisture. I'll definitely try out MUFE, but for powder foundation I do have my bias for bare escentuals. They have good range for lighter Indian skin tones and the powder looks very natural if you use it with their primer.

Really. does MAC foundation and conceaker gives you that caky skin. I was planning to buy cuz i thought most actresses uses it. If you buy differnt shade will it still makes you look caky? By the way i likes kareen's look, the makeup in she weares in the movie "chup ke chup ke''. Any tips?

@Anonymous I guess, Bare Escentuals is one of those lines that you either love or you hate =/

@Sumaiya Kareena's look is really simple in Chup Chup Ke, some kajal, light peachy gloss and cheeks and you are good to go =)
