Vimi on Faces being her Canvas

From the looks of it, had she tried she could have given the models a run for their money. Now she helps them get on the runway. Senior M.A.C make-up artist, Vimi Joshi would rather prefer dolling the models up than movie stars.
“Behind the scenes, is where the action takes place. Dressing up models is more fun because on the runway, you can be creative and more experimental. But when you are styling for movies, it is very character-oriented,” she asserted.
True, but that doesn’t hold her back to dress up movie stars. She has done the make-up for various Bollywood stars including the likes Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Urmila, Mandira Bedi, Amisha Patel and Vidya Balan.
“Unlike, the grapevine, stars are one of the best people to work with. Most of them, come and hug me after the make-up is over, I think that is a sign of appreciation,” Vimi said.
But if there’s something she rues, is the lack of courage in actors to experiment with make-up.
“I hope that Indian actors could get a little more experimental because, they are the trend-setters of the country. Deepika Padukone’s eye make-up was heavily adopted by people. I had a lot of people who came to me and asked me for the Om Shanti Om eye-liner. The same case followed with Bipasha Basu’s extended eye-liner in Race,” Vimi informed.
Vimi adds that Indians should experiment with colors such as gray, purple, blue and greens.

“I would say that the top make-up artists in India always keep up with the international beauty trends. I had just returned from New York and the Milan fashion weeks. So I closely followed the international trends and adapted them to the Indian skin-tone while working for the Delhi Fashion Week,” the make-up artist said.

Sophie,

Nude eyeshadow: M.A.C Naked Lunch
Kohl: M.A.C Smolder Eye Kohl
Mascara: M.A.C Plush Lash Mascara
Cream Blush: Any of the M.A.C Blushcremes, [I love Lillicent]
Lipgloss: Any of the M.A.C Tinted Lipglasses
Foundation: To get a dewy look like Deepika's try M.A.C Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation
Bronzer: M.A.C Refined Golden Bronzer

For flawless brows, here are my recs, fill in all the sparse spots in your eyebrows with M.A.C Brow Shader, then set it all with M.A.C Brow Set. It makes the eyebrows absolutely flawless.

Hope I answered all your questions :)

Bianca,

Thank you for your sweet words hun, Naked Lunch would be applied on the lid, and I would use a M.A.C 239 fluffy eyeshadow brush. Bronzer, would be on her cheeks.

ok heres what; I was pretty excited to be getting a MAC brush set ..i have none and wanted to start my collection as it s the first step to a perfeclyt groomed face right..so i looked at all my options and was at first suck btw the basic bush sets and the face one...then i figured that the z187 is great and so versatileand it had been on my wishlist for a while so i opted for the face brush set then thght what abt eye brshes...?so i thought instead of settling for some face brshes and jst SOME eye brshes i shld get two sets to start a brilliant collection and anyway how many times are they going to have the brshes at this price right...so instead of settling for sme eye and sme face brshes why not complete collections of both yes its dble the price ....I want to ask am i making a sensible decision...

Yr the besti wldnt kn.ow half as mch abt make up if it wrnt f.or th bl.og...althgh sme sites like chanel and bobbi brown ve excellent appl. videos...right..if you've seen sme gd ones to o let me know :)

Bianca,

Yes you are making a good decision, M.A.C only does brush sets during the Holidays which is once a year.
