Vimi J Weighs In On Lashes and Brows

Doe Eyed Flutter
Flirty eyelashes can speak volumes but most of us aren’t exactly blessed with abundant lashes. Luckily, fake lashes do the trick. Vimi Joshi, M.A.C senior artist, India and Middle East says, “There are many types of false eyelashes available in an array of shapes, sizes and colors. You can use a full set of lashes, (she recommends M.A.C #6 Lash) to give volume or you can use individual lashes in the corner of your eyes to create a “cat-like” effect. She recommends M.A.C #20 Lash. If you’re feeling funky you can even go for colored ones! If you have to cut the lashes to suit your own eye shape, always cut from the outside (the longer side). Try and get the false lashes as close to the natural lash line as possible.

Hair-Raising Brows
Most women complain of lacking the perfect shaped arched eyebrows. It’s inevitably scanty or
bushy! All sorts of remedies are looked into and experimented with, but to no avail. Enter 'filled-in' eyebrows and there’s a ray of hope. Vimi says, “The thumb rule is that ‘eyebrows are sisters, not twins’. They are meant to be slightly uneven. The key is to get them looking as similar to each other as possible. You can do this by filling in the eyebrows either by using an eyebrow pencil (M.A.C Eye Brows) in flick-like strokes or you can use a small angled brush (M.A.C Brush #266) with an eye shadow (M.A.C Brow Shader) in a color close to your eyebrows to recreate the hair shape.”

I'll try to give u quick recs. I barely have time between work these days. Here are a few things you'll need for the look: M.A.C Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation, apply evenly on the skin to get a dewy look similar to Deepika's. Apply a coppery-peach blush like M.A.C Coppertone on the cheeks. Apply a nude colored eyeshadow like M.A.C All That Glitters all over the lid, extend it to the browbone then add M.A.C Woodwinked eyeshadow in the crease, and finish off with 2 coats of mascara. Apply a sheer nude gloss like M.A.C Beaux Lustreglass for a glossy yet nude lip.
